Access Without Obligations
“No obligation; no problem.” Purchasing an option is about buying more flexibility and more convenience.. Whether you can’t commit for personal reasons or simply uncertain how your favorite team will perform, options provide peace of mind: no longer will you kick yourself for being indecisive or become a victim of “buyer’s remorse,” you can now make a thoughtful decision on your schedule.
Convenience and Flexibility
Options don’t just give you the ability to secure face value tickets to high demand events, you also have the freedom to defer the decision making process until a time that is more convenient for you. Being indecisive is no longer a problem; we understand that things can change pretty quickly and have developed a solution that fits your lifestyle!
Worry and Stress Free
Buying an option relieves the stress associated with trying to get a ticket to a high-demand event. All options sold are backed by OptionIt’s official partnerships and are guaranteed to be genuine tickets.
Our initial focus is on sports, live entertainment, and participatory (marathons, triathlons) events. Some of our options may also include an experiential component, such as a "meet-and-greet" with an athlete or going behind the scenes at an event.
Simply put, an option is a reservation that can be executed, sold to someone else or canceled. Options enable you to make a purchasing decision when it’s convenient for you and can provide “access on demand” for products and services that don’t physically exist today.
You can purchase up to 6 options at one time. If additional seats are needed, they can be purchased in separate transactions. We do this to prevent ticket brokers from buying up all of our inventory and then re-selling it to you for an inflated price. We don’t want that, and neither do you.
Our "official partnerships" with rights-holders enable us to guarantee that the option we sell will always be linked to an actual ticket. You can be assured that your option is authentic, and the ticket you receive (should you choose to exercise your option) will be genuine. We also guarantee we will never “over-sell” and event by issuing more options than available seats.
In a Playoff game scenario, if your team does not qualify, your option automatically expires. Because Playoff game scenarios are TBD events that involve some risk, prices of these options are often considerably less expensive.
We will notify you via e-mail when the "exercise window" to buy the ticket opens. Once the exercise window opens you can navigate to “My Options” within your account and select “Exercise.” You will receive a confirmation email from OptionIt with directions onhow to complete your purchase (and in some cases, you’ll have the ability to make the purchase directly through OptionIt).
Immediately after buying an option, you have the ability to sell the option on the OptionIt secondary marketplace at whatever price you determine. When you are ready to sell your option, navigate to “My Options” within your account. Select the option you wish to sell in the "Owned Options" section, set your selling price in the text box on the right-hand side of the option and click "Sell Options." Your options will be immediately available for purchase. Please note--7% is automatically added to your list price as a transaction fee to the buyer.
The money received from an option sale will be put directly into your Holding Account (minus the transaction fee detailed below). You can use that money for future option purchases, request a payment via PayPal or have a paper check mailed directly to you.
OptionIt charges the seller a 10% transaction fee on all options sold in OptionIt’s secondary marketplace (a buyer in the secondary market is also charged a small transaction fee). This fee will automatically be deducted from the amount deposited into your holding account.
Currently, the OptionIt platform only allows our customers to sell an option to other users on our website. We do not allow third parties to sell tickets on our site.
You can post your option for sale immediately. In the case of exercising, you can only do so when the "exercise window" opens (your ability to do either ends when the "exercise window" closes). The "exercise window" is provided to you when purchasing your option.
We accept all major credit cards.
If you have money in your "Holding Account," you can fund a transaction using those available funds. Additionally, if the option you are purchasing is more than the balance you have in your "Holding Account," you can supplement the balance using a credit card.
OptionIt feels that paying a "transaction fee" for initial option purchases goes against our philosophy of convenience and flexibility. "Secondary Marketplace" transactions on our website will incur a 17% fee; the buyer is charged 7% of the option price, and the seller is charged 10%.
There will never be any fees associated with exercising your options; however, you may experience transaction fees associated with the purchase of your tickets, as per your team’s relationship with their primary ticketing provider.
If you wish to cash out your holding account, email info@optionit.com and we will assist you with your request. You can elect to leave the money in your secure "Holding Account," transfer the money to your PayPal account, or request a paper check from OptionIt that will arrive in about 3 weeks.
Due to credit card regulations, we are unable to credit your credit card for original option purchases.
A "Holding Account" is a secure environment where you can store your proceeds from option sales and use for future transactions. You are able to "cash out" your holding account at any time via PayPal or by requesting a paper check from OptionIt by emailing info@optionit.com.
Assuming nobody has purchased your option (or is attempting to do so), you can cancel your proposed sale at any time. If you are unable to cancel, you may buy it back if they offer it for sale, or may try to buy comparable options that may be for sale.
Depending on the method specified when you originally purchased the option, one or both of the following delivery methods are available:
- Will-Call: You will provide a name when you exercise your option and pick-up your tickets at the Will-Call window. Simply show up to the box office (we'll provide information on the exact location) with government-issued identification to pick up your tickets.
- Print: Upon exercising your option, an email with a confirmation code will be sent to you. You can then visit the primary ticketing provider's website, enter the unique code and, after completing the transaction, print your ticket.
Assuming the event is not a playoff game, OptionIt takes full financial responsibility for scheduled events that are cancelled. If this occurs, you will be refunded the price you purchased the option for. Unless a scheduled event is cancelled, all option purchases are non-refundable.
To change or reset your password, navigate to http://www.optionit.com/user/password. Enter your username and/or email address and reset instructions will be emailed to you immediately. If you still have problems, please email info@optionit.com and we will assist you.
Should you elect to terminate your OptionIt account, simply send us an email at Help@optionit.com with the subject line: "TERMINATE MY ACCOUNT.” If you have any money in your Holding Account, please make sure you have either requested your money via PayPal or check otherwise the money you have in the Holding Account will be forfeited.
It is OptionIt's policy to always inform you (via email) when any updates to your account have occurred this is primarily a security feature that will help you monitor your account. Should emails pertain to non-account matters, you will always have the ability to remove yourself from communications.
OptionIt customers can be assured that your option is authentic and all inventory is backed by an official partnership with a sports team, league or event owner ("rights-holder"). Additionally, OptionIt will never sell more options than available seats to ensure your purchase always corresponds to a specific seat.
